Chandigarh University announced that 50 of its students have departed for higher‑education programmes at 27 prestigious universities located in 10 countries as part of its September 2026 (SEP Intake 2026) international academic mobility drive. The departure ceremony highlighted destinations that include Canada, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajan Sharma, Executive Director of the Department of International Affairs, noted that Taiwan and France are the leading destinations, with 22 students travelling to Taiwan and 14 to France, together representing roughly 74 % of the cohort. Geographically, Asia accounts for 23 students (47 % of the total), Europe for 21 students (43 %), North America for three students (6 %) and Russia for two students (4 %).
The outgoing group spans a wide range of disciplines, including B.E. Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science, Aerospace Engineering, Data Analytics, Biotechnology, Psychology, MBA, BBA, B.Sc. Animation, VFX & Gaming, Forensic Science, Hospitality & Hotel Management and Travel & Tourism.
Program‑wise, the Semester Exchange Programme is the largest component with 27 students, followed by the International Transfer Programme (8 students), Research Internship opportunities (7 students), Short‑Term Programmes (4 students), and single‑student participation in the Taiwan Experience Education Programme, Master's Abroad and Semester Abroad programmes.
Placement outcomes are strong: overall, 92 % of the students secured placements at partner universities. The International Transfer Programme, Short‑Term Programme, Master's Abroad and Semester Abroad programmes each achieved 100 % placement, while 26 of the 27 students in the Semester Exchange Programme were placed.
Chandigarh University highlighted that, over the past 12 years, it has facilitated international academic opportunities for more than 2,450 students and has forged 540 international collaborations, enabling study at prestigious institutions in over 100 countries across six continents, including the USA, Australia, Canada, the UK and Europe.
The university, accredited with a NAAC A+ grade and QS World ranking, offers more than 109 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across engineering, management, pharmacy, law, architecture, journalism, animation, hotel management, commerce and other fields, and has been recognized as the University with Best Placements by the World Corporate Rankings (WCRC).
