Chatha Foods Limited issued a press release on 5 October 2026 announcing the commencement of commercial production at its new dedicated vegetarian manufacturing facility, designated CFL Unit II, located in Village Toffanpur, Dera Bassi (SAS Nagar), Punjab.

Facility Details

The plant occupies a 3.5‑acre site and is equipped with an installed annual capacity of 16,000 metric tonnes (MT). It features fully automated production lines for cold‑pressed breads, retort cooking, forming and coating, and IQF/blast freezing, complemented by integrated research‑and‑development, automated packaging, and a cold‑chain dispatch system that ensures consistent quality and end‑to‑end traceability.

Product Portfolio

The facility will manufacture products across three key categories:

  • Breads: tortillas, Roti Canai, roti and Kathi Roll wraps, and Malabari parathas.
  • Cooking Bases: retorted gravies, pastes and non‑mayo sauces intended for restaurants, hotels and quick‑service‑restaurant (QSR) kitchens.
  • Snacks & Sides: vegetarian and paneer patties, nuggets, kebabs, samosas and handmade spring rolls.

These offerings will be sold under the Unifayre brand and supplied to QSR chains, HoReCa operators, institutional buyers and private‑label customers both in India and in international markets.

Managing Director Paramjit Singh Chatha stated that the launch of the dedicated vegetarian unit represents a defining milestone in the company’s growth journey, enabling Chatha Foods to extend its manufacturing capability across a broader vegetarian portfolio and to serve a large and growing share of India’s eat‑out market.

Manufacturing Network

With the addition of the vegetarian unit, Chatha Foods’ manufacturing network now comprises three specialised facilities:

  • Dera Bassi, Punjab (vegetarian) – 16,000 MT annual capacity.
  • Mohali, Punjab (non‑vegetarian) – 7,800 MT annual capacity.
  • Aurangabad joint venture with Allana Group (non‑vegetarian) – 7,000 MT annual capacity.

Collectively, the network provides an integrated annual capacity of 30,800 MT, supporting more than 5,000 food outlets, restaurant brands, cloud kitchens, institutional customers and international markets across both vegetarian and non‑vegetarian categories.
