Chimes Aviation Academy (CAA), a DGCA‑approved Flying Training Organisation with more than 18 years of operation in Madhya Pradesh, issued a press release on 26 August 2026 highlighting its integrated, in‑house maintenance capability and recent fleet expansion.

In‑house Maintenance Infrastructure

CAA maintains CAR‑145‑approved maintenance centres at each of its operational airfields – the Dhana airfield in Madhya Pradesh and the Gurugram (Haryana) base. These facilities are certified under the same CAR‑145 standard that governs approved maintenance organisations across Indian civil aviation, allowing the academy to conduct servicing, inspections, and airworthiness sign‑offs on‑site without reliance on external vendors. The academy actively recruits Aircraft Maintenance Engineers alongside flight instructors and air traffic controllers, treating engineering staff as core operational roles.

Fleet Expansion

The academy now operates a fleet of 33 aircraft, comprising Cessna 172s, Piper Archers, Tecnam P2010s and Diamond DA‑42 twin‑engine aircraft. Recent additions were made to accommodate growing student intakes, and the expanded fleet is supported by the scaled‑up maintenance infrastructure.

Operational Performance

Since its inception, CAA has accumulated over 200,000 total flying hours and trained more than 1,000 alumni. The year 2025 marked a record with 35,000 flying hours logged, representing an increase of more than 6,000 hours compared with the previous year. Cadets benefit from an average Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training duration of just 11 months, and the academy reports among the lowest incident rates in the Indian Flying Training Organisation (FTO) sector over its 18‑plus year history.

Cadet Feedback

Testimonials from cadets and alumni repeatedly commend the maintenance team, describing it as “like no other” and crediting engineers alongside instructors for “safe and uninterrupted flying.” This perception underscores the academy’s view that maintenance is a critical component of the training ecosystem rather than a peripheral support function.
