Overview
Chitkara University, a UGC‑recognised and NAAC‑accredited private university with campuses in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, hosted the AIKosh University Engagement Programme (UEP) on 6 August 2026 in Rajpura, Punjab. The programme is part of the Government of India’s IndiaAI Mission, which was approved in March 2024 under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) to establish India as a global leader in artificial intelligence through self‑reliant, ethical, and responsible AI development.
Programme Details
The AIKosh UEP aims to deepen AI adoption in academia, nurture emerging talent, and provide students and researchers with access to national‑level AI resources. AIKosh serves as a comprehensive platform offering datasets, AI models, tools, and other critical resources. As a result of the engagement, more than 250 students enrolled in the Computer Science Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) programme at Chitkara University participated, gaining exposure to industry‑relevant tools, emerging AI practices, and national AI datasets.
