The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India, through their letter No. SY-11012/1/2016-CSL dated August 17, 2026, has appointed Dr. Vani Ahluwalia as a Non-official (Independent) Director on the Board of Cochin Shipyard Limited. The appointment is effective for a period of three years from August 17, 2026, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.

Dr. Vani Ahluwalia (DIN: 11754971), aged 54 years, is a medical professional, public health administrator, and social sector leader based in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Her academic qualifications include:

  • MBBS from Dr. Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh Memorial Medical College, Amravati
  • Post Graduate Diploma in HIV and Family Education (DAFÉ) from IGNOU
  • Post Graduate Diploma in International Human Rights from the University of Delhi
  • LLB from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur
  • Enrolled for specialized courses from the University of Washington in "Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Global Health" and "Leadership and Management in Health in India"

With over 25 years of professional experience, she currently serves as Senior Medical Officer at the ART Plus Centre, NSCB Medical College, Jabalpur, under the Madhya Pradesh State AIDS Society. Her previous experience includes service at the Tropical Forest Research Institute and J.K. Hospital, Jabalpur. She also serves as Managing Partner of JK Celebration and Ahluwalia Hospitality LLP, with experience in strategic decision-making, financial planning, and business management.

Dr. Ahluwalia has held several leadership positions including:

  • National Secretary of Ekal Arogya Prakalp (2020–2021)
  • National Executive Committee Member of the Arogya Foundation of India since 2016
  • Trustee and Vice President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Mahakaushal Prant) from 2021 to 2024

Her areas of expertise include healthcare management, medical administration, public health programme delivery, legal and regulatory matters, organisational governance, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and community development. She has contributed to rural healthcare, telemedicine, and COVID-19 response initiatives and has served as a G20 Speaker.

The company confirms that Dr. Vani Ahluwalia is not related to any existing Directors of the Company. She is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other authority, and is not disqualified from holding the office of Director under Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013.
