Cruise Money Announces India's First Agentic Payments Card

At the Global Fintech Fest 2026 held on September 23, 2026 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, Cruise Money previewed an AI‑agentic prepaid card that functions as a full‑service money manager. The card, a virtual prepaid instrument, will be issued by LivQuik Technology (India) Private Limited, while M2P Fintech supplies the API infrastructure that powers the agentic functionality.

Core Innovation

Unlike existing agentic payment products that merely spend up to a user‑provided limit, Cruise Money’s card calculates a “Safe to Spend” figure continuously from a user’s income, committed bills, EMIs, investments, emergency reserves and savings goals. Users set a monthly budget and guardrails once through a single chat‑based consent flow; the AI then proposes a mandate specifying amount, category, validity period and approval threshold, which the user approves in the same conversation. A virtual card is issued that the AI agent alone can use within those predefined boundaries.

Autonomous Decision‑Making

After the budget and guardrails are established, the AI agent autonomously selects among the user’s funding sources—cash, credit or debit—optimising either cash‑flow preservation or rewards based on the user’s preferences. At the preview the card operated on a single prepaid funding source, with multi‑source orchestration slated for future releases as regulatory approvals are obtained. Use cases demonstrated included flight and hotel bookings, grocery and everyday essentials ordering, recurring subscriptions and utility payments. The system includes a safeguard that declines any purchase that would erode a user’s savings goal, returning the request to the user.

Partnerships and Compliance

"The interesting question was never whether an AI could complete a payment. It was whether it should — and increasingly, how," said Vinay Bharathwaj, Founder & CEO of Cruise Money. LivQuik Technology’s CEO Bhargav Padh emphasized that the regulated issuer ensures agent‑initiated payments meet the same standards as traditional transactions, with certification, authentication matching and an auditable trail. M2P co‑founder Prabhu Rangarajan highlighted the need for payment infrastructure that blends autonomy with safety, transparency and control as AI agents become trusted commerce participants.

Regulatory Status and Rollout

The agentic card is awaiting final regulatory approvals before a public launch. Access will be rolled out in phases to members on a wait‑list. Cruise Money operates under the RBI‑regulated Account Aggregator framework, accessing financial data on a read‑only basis.
