Announcement
DB HiTek, Korea’s leading 8‑inch pure‑play foundry, announced on 20 August 2026 that it will exhibit at electronica India 2026, the South‑Asia leading electronics trade show held in Bengaluru from 16 to 18 September 2026.
Objectives
The company states its purpose is to strengthen engagement with Indian customers and expand its footprint in the Indian market, leveraging strong government policy support and active investment in India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
Exhibition Highlights
- Power semiconductor process technologies will be displayed, including the flagship BCD (Bipolar‑CMOS‑DMOS) process, a newly qualified 1,200 V SiC MOSFET, and a 650 V GaN process that DB HiTek plans to qualify by December 2026.
- Specialized process technologies such as X‑ray, global shutter, single‑photon‑avalanche‑diode (SPAD) CIS, and mixed‑signal/RF processes will also be presented to broaden the regional customer base.
- The BCD process has accumulated 9 million wafer shipments to date, underscoring DB HiTek’s volume‑production experience.
Market Context
India’s semiconductor ecosystem is expanding rapidly, driven by government policy support and investment. Local fabless firms are moving from chip‑design services to developing their own semiconductor products, a trend expected to raise demand for external foundry services.
Customer Engagement
DB HiTek will seek new business with Indian fabless companies and is conducting product performance evaluations of its SiC and GaN processes with strategic customers.
Management Quote
A DB HiTek official said, "India is a market where the rapid growth of local fabless companies and the semiconductor ecosystem is creating new business opportunities," adding that participation in electronica India is intended to "strengthen our engagement with local customers and continue identifying new business opportunities based on our strengths in power semiconductors and specialty processes."
