Awards and Recognition

Decentro was named Fintech Company of the Year at the India Fintech Awards 2026 and secured the Embedded Finance Innovation Award at the 4th Edition Bharat NBFC & FinTech Summit & Awards 2026. At the same summit, Founder and CEO Rohit Taneja received the Emerging Leader of the Year (Under 40) accolade.

Platform Capabilities and Regulatory Authorisations

The company operates a full‑stack banking and fintech infrastructure platform that holds RBI Payment Aggregator (PA) authorisations for both online and physical payments, an IFSCA Payment Service Provider licence through its GIFT City entity, and a UIDAI Offline Verification Seeking Entity certification for offline Aadhaar verification. Its PA‑Physical (PA‑P) authorisation enables offline payment acceptance alongside online capabilities.

Service Reach and Client Portfolio

Decentro serves more than 2,000 enterprises across banking, lending, marketplaces, fintech and consumer internet. Notable clients include AU Small Finance Bank, BharatPe, CRED, Meesho, MakeMyTrip, Muthoot Finance, Tata Capital and L&T Finance.

Transaction and Identity Volumes

The platform processes over USD 12 billion in annual payment volume and conducts 120 million‑plus identity verifications per year. Integration timelines for enterprises are reduced from months to days, delivering roughly 30 % lower operational costs compared with building bespoke solutions.

Neowise Conversational AI Collections

Decentro’s AI‑led collections product, Neowise, supports multilingual borrower engagement in 12 plus Indian languages and handles close to 3 million borrower conversations each month. It operates through three physical delivery centres and a team of 400 + trained human debt callers for cases requiring human assistance.

Leadership and Founding History

Founder‑CEO Rohit Taneja is a two‑time fintech founder; he previously co‑founded Mypoolin, which was acquired by Wibmo (later bought by PayU). He also led product and engineering for Wibmo’s payment gateway business across India, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Dubai. Decentro was founded in 2020 by Rohit Taneja and Pratik Daudkhane, is backed by Y Combinator, and offers more than 150 APIs covering payments, identity verification, banking and AI‑led collections.

Funding, Profitability and Strategic Focus

To date, Decentro has raised approximately USD 10 million and remains profitable while expanding its capabilities, including the acquisition of Neowise and the launch of cross‑border payments infrastructure via its IFSCA licence and GIFT City presence.

Management Quote

Rohit Taneja stated: “Being recognised at the company, innovation and leadership levels in the same year is deeply meaningful for all of us at Decentro. We set out to build the infrastructure behind financial products, not another standalone financial product. For our customers, that means faster launches, fewer fragmented integrations, and regulated capabilities that can be embedded directly into their customer experience. These honours reinforce the value of building compliance and reliability into the platform from day one.”
