Project Details
The BPA manufacturing project will be implemented as a greenfield facility. The investment amount of ₹2,500 crores will be firmed up upon completion of detailed engineering work. The project will be funded through an appropriate mix of debt and equity.
Strategic Rationale and Integration
The BPA project represents a strategic move toward creating a highly integrated manufacturing platform spanning the entire value chain from Cumene to Phenol & Acetone, BPA, and Polycarbonate resin, including downstream compounding. This integration follows DCTL's previously approved projects including India's first Polycarbonate resin manufacturing plant (using Trinseo technology) and a Phenol & Acetone manufacturing plant.
Market Opportunity
In addition to meeting captive requirements for Polycarbonate resin manufacturing, the BPA facility will enable Deepak to participate in the rapidly growing Indian market for Bisphenol A used in the manufacture of Epoxy resins.
