Raksha Mantri to Review 16 Defence PSUs' Performance

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh will conduct the annual performance review of 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) in New Delhi on September 1, 2026. The review emphasizes developing new indigenous technologies and enhancing defence exports, reflecting the government's focus on self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

Financial Performance and Dividend Distribution

Seven DPSU chairmen will present dividend cheques for the Government's equity shares for Financial Year 2025-26 to the Raksha Mantri. The companies include Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), BEML, and MIDHANI.

FY 2025-26 Performance Highlights

The collective performance of DPSUs in FY 2025-26 showed significant improvement. Total turnover reached Rs 1.29 lakh crore, representing a 15.4% increase over FY 2024-25. Cumulative Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at Rs 23,136 crore, registering a growth of 15.6% compared to the previous financial year. Most notably, defence exports achieved remarkable growth of 151.2% year-on-year in FY 2025-26.

Publication Releases on Indigenization and Modernization

During the event, Shri Rajnath Singh will release four significant publications: 'Aatmanirbhar DPSU - A journey of DPSUs towards Self-Reliance'; DISHA, an initiative for students' hands-on awareness of defence technologies and modern manufacturing processes; Modernisation roadmap of HAL; and Indigenisation Roadmap of HAL. These documents outline strategic directions for defence manufacturing self-reliance and technology development.
