Diageo India’s Don Julio Day of the Dead Celebration in Mumbai
On Monday, 26 October 2026, Diageo India staged a Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) event for its Don Julio Non‑Alcoholic Carbonated Beverage at the historic Mukesh Mills in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The celebration was designed around the brand’s “Por Amor” (For the Love Of) philosophy and aimed to connect Mexican heritage with Indian audiences through art, music and cultural storytelling.
The venue was transformed with Mexican‑inspired installations, including marigold (cempasúchil) pathways symbolising guidance for departed loved ones, contemporary ofrendas, and monarch‑butterfly motifs. Internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Satori provided a fusion of global electronic sounds, creating an energetic backdrop.
Indian celebrities Ananya Panday, Orry, Radhika Madan and Fatima Sana Shaikh attended, underscoring the event’s high‑profile nature. Culinary partner Mezcalita delivered a menu rooted in traditional Mexican cuisine, while Japonico and Quinta Cantina complemented the experience with tequila‑based cocktails.
Commenting on the occasion, Ruchira Jaitly, Chief Marketing Officer of Diageo India, said the Day of the Dead is “a beautiful expression of how love and memory transcend time, connecting us with those who came before us,” and emphasized that the celebration sought to bring Indian audiences closer to this cherished Mexican tradition.
