Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) has been honored with the prestigious "Dredging Company of the Year" Award 2026 at The Economic Times Global Ports & Shipping Awards 2026. The award recognizes the organization's contribution to India's port and maritime infrastructure and its commitment to excellence in dredging.
Capt. S. Divakar, MD & CEO of DCIL, received the award on behalf of the entire DCIL family and its stakeholders on September 10, 2026. In his acceptance remarks, Capt. Divakar stated: "This award is a great honour for Dredging Corporation of India and a wonderful encouragement for us to continue our journey of excellence, innovation and nationbuilding. I am receiving this award not as the MD & CEO of DCIL, but on behalf of the entire DCIL family and all our stakeholders."
The company highlighted its growth trajectory since establishment in 1976, starting with a modest fleet of four dredgers and growing to a fleet of more than ten dredgers over five decades. Capt. Divakar reflected that this growth represents "a story of trust, perseverance, capability and service to the nation."
As DCIL celebrates its Golden Jubilee year marking five decades of service, the company expressed gratitude to its four promoter ports: Visakhapatnam Port Authority, Paradip Port Authority, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, and Deendayal Port Authority for their continued trust and support. Capt. Divakar also thanked the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for its constant guidance and encouragement.
The award represents a significant milestone in DCIL's Golden Jubilee year and reinforces its commitment to excellence, innovation and strengthening India's maritime infrastructure.
