Overview
EaseMyTrip’s electric mobility subsidiary, Easy Green Mobility (EMTev), announced the commencement of electric bus roll‑out in Bhopal, marking the first operational deployment under its Vision 2030 roadmap. The company has secured type approval for both its 12‑metre and 13.5‑metre electric bus models.
Product Details
The initial offering is a 12‑metre electric seater coach equipped with a 45+ passenger capacity (45 seats plus standing room). It is powered by a lithium‑iron‑phosphate (LFP) battery pack delivering 423.9 kWh of total energy, providing a claimed range of up to 350 km on a single charge and a top speed of 100 km per hour. The battery system employs liquid‑cooling and supports fast charging via a dual‑gun configuration. Safety provisions include electronic braking, electronic stability control, camera‑based monitoring, and a centralized control tower that tracks vehicle and battery data in real time. EMTev is further developing AI‑enabled driver‑monitoring, blind‑spot detection, and broader advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) as part of its technology roadmap.
Strategic Objectives
Manoj Soni, CEO of EMTev, stated that the firm’s focus is on delivering intra‑city and inter‑city electric buses that combine long‑range battery technology, rapid charging, comprehensive safety systems, and passenger comfort while achieving lower operating costs. He emphasized that electric mobility must move beyond sustainability rhetoric to demonstrate scale, reliability, and economic viability.
localisation and Supply Chain
Progressive localisation of electric‑vehicle components is a core priority. EMTev plans phased domestic sourcing and manufacturing to reduce reliance on imported parts and to strengthen Indian capabilities across the EV supply chain.
Leadership Commentary
EaseMyTrip CEO and Co‑Founder Rikant Pittie reiterated the company’s commitment to building capabilities in electric bus manufacturing, fleet operations, and component localisation, with an overarching aim of delivering scale, efficiency, and long‑term value creation for India’s mobility ecosystem.
Production Target
The company disclosed a target of producing 5,000 electric buses per year within the next five years, aligning with its longer‑term plan to expand into electric commercial mobility and to cement a domestic manufacturing base.
