Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) has launched Special Campaign 6.0 under the dual themes of 'Waste to Wealth' from the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and 'eWaste Management' from the Ministry of Coal. The campaign represents ECL's commitment to enhancing workplace cleanliness, promoting sustainability, and strengthening operational efficiency across the organization.

The campaign will focus on four key areas: E-Waste Management, Pendency Reduction, Space Optimisation, and Digitalisation. A comprehensive action plan will be implemented in two distinct phases: the Preparatory Phase from September 15 to September 30, 2026, followed by the Implementation Phase from October 2 to October 31, 2026.

The campaign was formally launched by ECL's Chairman and Managing Director Shri Satish Jha, who emphasized the importance of collective participation and called upon employees to make active contributions toward successful implementation. The launch event was attended by senior leadership including Director (Finance) Shri Md. Anzar Alam, Director (HR) Shri Gunjan Kumar Sinha, Director (Technical/P&P) Shri Girish Gopinathan Nair, and Director (Technical/Operations) Shri Chitranjan Kumar, along with Nodal Officer Shri Nazrul Islam, General Manager (HR), and Heads of Departments from Headquarters and General Managers of various Areas.

Under the campaign's motto 'Act Today, Impact Tomorrow', ECL will undertake systematic collection, segregation, and responsible disposal of electronic waste. The company will also strengthen efforts toward timely disposal of pending public grievances, appeals, references, and communications received from various stakeholders, including Members of Parliament and State Governments. Additional focus areas include space optimization through identification and disposal of scrap, obsolete, and unserviceable items, as well as promoting paperless and eco-friendly workplace practices through digitalization to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
