Eco Recycling Limited (Ecoreco) submitted a regulatory disclosure to BSE Limited regarding the formal announcement of "ERI India" in Tokyo, Japan on August 31, 2026. The announcement represents a significant milestone in the company's previously disclosed strategic partnership with ERI, USA.
The event was attended by more than 800 participants from the global recycling community, including senior government officials and representatives from the Embassies of India, Japan, and the United States of America.
The partnership combines ERI's global expertise in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), technology reuse, data security, material recovery, and recycling technologies with Ecoreco's Indian infrastructure, operating experience, and resource-recovery capabilities. ERI India is intended to create a technology-driven, transparent, and internationally aligned platform spanning:
- IT Asset Disposition
- Secure data destruction
- Refurbishment and remarketing
- Reverse logistics
- E-waste recycling
- Resource recovery
According to B. K. Soni, Chairman & Managing Director of Ecoreco, the partnership represents an opportunity to move beyond conventional waste management and focus on preserving and recovering material wealth embedded in end-of-life products. He emphasized that "material, once lost, is lost forever" and described the recycling community as "the treasurer of this material wealth above the ground."
John Shegerian, Chairman and CEO of ERI, stated that India represents an extraordinary opportunity to combine world-class ITAD practices with the country's growing recycling ecosystem. The partners believe India has potential to become a global hub for responsible technology reuse and material recovery, particularly as countries focus on resource security and critical minerals.
The initiative aims to contribute to India's emerging resource-security objectives and represents a shift from viewing discarded electronics as a waste-management challenge to recognizing them as a significant source of secondary materials and strategic resources.
The company committed to making appropriate disclosures regarding further developments in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
