EDF postpones partial sale of Edison

During its results presentation, EDF finance chief Claude Laruelle announced that the utility will delay the start of the planned partial sale of its Italian subsidiary Edison until greater clarity on the market environment is achieved. The postponement does not constitute a cancellation; the sale process will be initiated at a later date when uncertainties subside.

Edison currently sources approximately 45 % of its gas requirements from Qatar, prompting questions about the subsidiary’s gas supply chain amid ongoing disruptions. Despite these concerns, Laruelle affirmed that Edison remains capable of delivering its full gas supply commitments.
