Electra‑Safran Turbogenerator Production Agreement

Electra announced that it has signed a production agreement with France’s Safran Helicopter Engines for the supply of TG600 turbogenerators. The contract includes an initial order of 250 TG600 units, which will be used to support the manufacturing scale‑up of Electra’s nine‑passenger Ultra Short aircraft, designated EL9.

The EL9 is slated to undertake its first flight in late 2027 or early 2028, with a target entry‑into‑service date of 2030. This agreement builds on a partnership first announced in 2023, extending the collaboration between the two companies to aid the EL9’s development and certification programme.

Electra, which receives backing from Lockheed Martin Ventures and Honeywell, was earlier selected this year for the Trump administration’s pilot program for advanced air‑mobility, joining fellow participants Archer (NASDAQ:ACHR) and Joby (NYSE:JOBY). The pilot program is intended to accelerate the deployment of flying air‑taxi services in the United States.

No additional regulatory conditions, timelines beyond the aircraft milestones, or financial terms beyond the 250‑unit order were disclosed in the announcement.
