Envision Energy Launches Model T – EN175/8.0

On 25 September 2026, at the WindEnergy Hamburg exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, Envision Energy announced the launch of the Model T – EN175/8.0, an 8 MW‑class smart onshore wind turbine equipped with a 175‑meter rotor. The turbine is targeted at medium‑wind‑speed sites and complex operating environments, combining advanced aerodynamics, an integrated drivetrain, and AI‑powered autonomous optimization.

The EN175/8.0 builds on Envision’s Model T platform, which to date has accumulated more than 4,000 units ordered and approximately 1,500 units installed. The new model incorporates Envision’s sixth‑generation low‑noise aerodynamic technology, in‑house designed and manufactured blades, gearboxes and generators, and the Galileo autonomous optimization control system. Galileo is powered by Envision’s Tianji Weather Foundation Model and Dubhe Energy Foundation Model, enabling the turbine to perceive operating conditions, analyze real‑time data, and autonomously adjust control strategies.

Energy yield is projected to increase by 2 % to 12 % relative to existing models, depending on site conditions. The turbine targets a sound power level of 107 dB(A), with optional low‑noise operating modes for noise‑sensitive projects. Sixth‑generation low‑noise airfoils and newly developed serrated trailing edges have been validated through wind‑tunnel testing.

Vertically integrated design and manufacturing of key components allow coordinated optimization across blades, gearboxes and generators, supporting quality and cost control throughout the turbine’s lifecycle. Industrial‑scale testing of materials, components and subsystems feeds into the Galileo digital twin, enabling continuous validation and refinement of design models.

The EN175/8.0 is offered in normal‑climate and cold‑climate configurations. For icing‑prone environments, an optional blade ice‑prevention system with multiple heating zones and integrated lightning protection is available. Electrically, the turbine features a full‑power converter architecture with advanced grid‑forming controls, providing stronger voltage and frequency support, rapid fault ride‑through response, and reliable operation in weak‑grid conditions.

Beyond individual turbine performance, the Model T platform is designed for plant‑wide value creation. Through integrated coordination of wind, solar, energy storage and industrial loads, Envision aims to optimize renewable power assets as an integrated energy system, improving flexibility, efficiency and overall returns.

Lou Yimin, Senior Vice President & Chief Product Officer of Envision Energy, stated that the next generation of wind power is about making turbines smarter, more reliable and more valuable throughout their lifecycle, and that connecting AI, wind, storage, solar and loads moves the focus from optimizing individual machines to optimizing the value of entire future energy systems.

The launch is part of Envision’s broader strategy to develop intelligent renewable energy technologies that combine high‑performance hardware, AI and digital intelligence to support the evolution of future energy systems.
