ESIC Medical College & Hospital in Faridabad achieved a significant medical milestone by successfully performing its first corneal transplant surgery on October 27, 2026. The procedure, known as Penetrating Keratoplasty (PKP), was conducted on a 46-year-old patient suffering from visual impairment due to corneal opacity. The surgery was performed by Dr. S. R. Singh, DMS (Eye Surgeon), along with his ophthalmology team. This achievement marks an important advancement in strengthening specialized clinical services and providing advanced healthcare facilities to ESIC beneficiaries. The institution acknowledged the dedicated efforts and clinical expertise of the ophthalmology team in achieving this surgical milestone.
