Etu Energias signs agreement to acquire Chevron’s Angola oil blocks

On 28 August 2026, Etu Energias announced that it has signed an agreement with Chevron to purchase Chevron’s participating interests in Blocks 14 and 14K located offshore Angola. Etu Energias, which is headquartered in Angola, will take over the interests held by Chevron in these two blocks.

The transaction comes after a development in June when London‑listed oil and gas producer Energean disclosed a $260 million agreement to acquire the same Chevron assets. Energean’s deal faced uncertainty after Etu Energias matched the offer, leading to the current agreement between Etu and Chevron. No financial terms for Etu Energias’s purchase were disclosed in the announcement.
