Announcement

Excelra, a global scientific informatics company, announced that the bioinformatics services and the associated team of Fios Genomics Ltd have been transferred to Excelra effective 20 October 2026.

Fios Genomics, founded in 2008 as a University of Edinburgh spin‑out and based in Edinburgh, Scotland, has spent nearly two decades converting complex omics data into actionable insights for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and broader life‑science researchers, with particular depth in multi‑omics study analysis.

The team will join Excelra’s scientific consulting group and will continue to serve existing Fios clients using the same scientists and platform, ensuring continuity of service.

Sarah Lynagh, CEO of Fios Genomics, stated that the move is about continuity and delivering a larger impact for clients, noting that Excelra shares the same quality and care values.

Jannick Bendtsen, Vice President – Bioinformatics at Excelra, said the team’s rigorous, study‑level analysis aligns with Excelra’s focus on integrative multi‑omics, translational insight and scientific AI, and that the team now has access to Excelra’s data assets, AI engineering and a larger pool of domain specialists.

Anandbir Singh Brar, CEO of Excelra, highlighted that pairing Fios’ scientific depth with Excelra’s bioinformatics, data and AI‑native engineering will enable faster, more confident answers to key research questions such as target, indication and patient selection.

Excelra’s broader capabilities include AI‑driven R&D platforms such as GOSTAR, connected lab informatics and multi‑omics expertise, aimed at turning R&D complexity into defensible decisions.
