Announcement
On 19 August 2026, Exicom Tele‑Systems Ltd (BSE: 544133, NSE: EXICOM) announced the commencement of manufacturing advanced liquid‑cooled AC and DC power modules at its newly inaugurated Hyderabad Smart Manufacturing Facility, becoming the first Indian company to produce this class of liquid‑cooled power electronics for export.
Technology Benefits
Reliability studies cited in the release attribute roughly 60 % of power‑electronics failures in EV chargers to thermal stress, and indicate that a 10°‑15 °C temperature rise can double component failure rates. The liquid‑cooling architecture absorbs and transfers heat more efficiently, keeping internal temperatures about 10 °C lower than comparable air‑cooled systems, thereby extending component life and reducing operating costs.
Market Deployment
Initial production will primarily serve customers in North America and Europe, supporting Tritium’s DC charger portfolio, including the TRI‑FLEX™ ultra‑fast DC chargers and DC‑FLEX™ charging systems. Subsequent phases will target Indian charge‑point operators, fleet owners and OEMs as Tritium’s DC fast chargers are deployed domestically. Over time, the liquid‑cooled design will be incorporated into Exicom’s flagship Harmony DC chargers, creating a new line of high‑value power‑electronics exports from India.
Facility Details
The Hyderabad Smart Manufacturing Facility is equipped with advanced automation, digital traceability and specialised testing rigs, enabling the precision required for liquid‑cooled module production. The plant leverages technology and manufacturing synergies from Tritium, which Exicom acquired in 2024, allowing the two entities to operate as a single system for advanced EV‑charging solutions.
Executive Comment
CEO and Managing Director Anant Nahata stated that “anyone who has stood next to a fast charger on a 45‑degree afternoon knows what heat does to electronics… liquid cooling has become the architecture of choice for high‑power charging, and bringing this technology to India lets us own, engineer, improve and adapt it faster for customers worldwide.”
