Press Release – New Delhi, 27 October 2026

Fanwizz Private Limited issued a press release on 27 October 2026 outlining its plan to launch the Masters Pro T20 cricket league, slated for its inaugural season in January 2027. The league will operate under a long‑term sports‑investment platform that combines franchise ownership, central revenue participation, global media distribution and a roadmap toward a public listing.

The six founding franchises are each valued at approximately ₹45‑50 crore, giving an aggregate franchise valuation of ₹270‑300 crore. Fanwizz estimates the league’s indicative valuation at ₹300‑350 crore at launch, with the potential to reach between ₹1,200‑1,500 crore within the first three to four seasons. Avishek Mazumdar, Founding Partner of Fanwizz, stated that the venture is intended to build a valuable sporting property with sustainable commercial revenues and meaningful franchise participation.

Innovative Competition Format

Masters Pro T20 introduces a first‑of‑its‑kind four‑innings structure where each team bats two separate innings of ten overs each; the team with the higher aggregate score wins. An optional “Super Sub” allows each side to permanently replace one player from the original XI after both teams have completed their first innings, adding a new tactical dimension.

Franchise Ownership and Revenue Model

Eighty percent of the league’s central revenue pool—comprising central sponsorship, broadcast and media rights, and gate receipts—will be distributed equally among the six founding franchises. Additionally, each founding franchise is proposed to receive a 6 % equity stake in the league‑operating company at the pre‑IPO stage, subject to definitive agreements and regulatory approvals.

Public Listing Roadmap

The league will operate through a subsidiary of Fanwizz Private Limited. Fanwizz targets a public listing after Season 3 and before Season 4, at an indicative valuation of ₹1,000‑1,200 crore. Under the proposed framework, 80 % of IPO proceeds are intended to be distributed equally among the six founding franchises, subject to final transaction structure, approvals and applicable legal requirements. Salman Khan, Co‑Founder of Fanwizz, emphasized the vision of building a scalable sports business that aligns franchise owners with the overall growth of the property.

Global Media and Commercial Potential

Masters Pro T20 aims for worldwide distribution across linear television, digital platforms, OTT services and YouTube, projecting a combined reach of approximately one billion viewers. The figure represents a target and does not guarantee actual viewership or confirmed distribution agreements.
