Overview

Flynas, the Saudi low‑cost carrier, announced on 22 July 2026 that it has placed an order for 25 additional Airbus aircraft, comprising five A330‑900neo and twenty A321neo jets.

Fleet Commitment

The new order brings Flynas’s total firm orders with Airbus to 235 aircraft out of a total orderbook of 280 planes. Its commitment for the A330neo family now stands at 20 aircraft, while the number of A321neo orders has risen to 56. Currently the airline operates 67 Airbus aircraft, including two A330‑300s, four A320ceos and sixty‑one A320neos.

Strategic Rationale

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Bander Almohanna stated that the additional aircraft are intended to ensure sustainable fleet growth, support the expansion of the airline’s six operating bases across the Kingdom, and strengthen capabilities for Flynas’s operations in Syria. He added that the expanded fleet will enable the carrier to access new markets and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s tourism and travel objectives, including facilitating pilgrim access to the Two Holy Mosques under the Pilgrim Experience Programme. The aircraft will also support operations during major national events such as Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup 2034.

Airbus Commentary

Airbus Executive Vice President of Sales for the commercial aircraft business, Benoît de Saint‑Exupéry, said the order reflects the partnership with one of the region’s fastest‑growing airlines. He noted that the A321neo delivers efficiency, performance and passenger comfort while reducing fuel consumption and carbon‑dioxide emissions by at least 20 % compared with previous‑generation aircraft.
