Announcement
Fortune Brands Innovations (NYSE: FBIN) announced that Jesse Singh has been appointed as its chief executive officer, effective Monday. Singh previously served as CEO of The AZEK Company, an outdoor living products maker, from 2016 through 2025.
Leadership Transition
The appointment follows the departure of interim CEO David Barry, who has been reassigned as chief operating officer and executive vice president. Activist investor Ed Garden, founder and CEO of Garden Investments, built a stake in Fortune Brands and advocated for the CEO change; he joined the board in March.
Market Reaction
Following the Reuters report of Singh’s appointment, FBIN shares rose 8.6% on Monday. Wolfe analyst Trevor Allinson described the hire as a clear positive, noting equity outperformance and the company’s discounted valuation relative to its historical levels. Allinson also highlighted Singh’s respect among building‑products industry participants and investors.
