foundit's Appraisal Survey 2026, with fieldwork closing in June 2026, gathered responses from professionals across industries, tenures and work locations throughout India.

Appraisal Timing and Job‑Search Activity

  • 27.9% of respondents had not received any appraisal by June 2026.
  • 96% of surveyed professionals are open to switching jobs, and 52% are actively looking for new opportunities.
  • Only 4% indicated they plan to stay with their current organisation.

Increment Distribution

  • 7.7% of those appraised received no increment.
  • 14.5% received a 1‑5% increase.
  • 19.3% received a 6‑10% increase.
  • 11.6% received an 11‑15% increase.
  • 7.4% received a 16‑20% increase.
  • 11.5% received more than a 20% increase.

Satisfaction Levels

  • 56% of respondents placed their satisfaction in the middle of the scale, with 35% selecting ‘neutral’, the single largest response.
  • 29% reported being ‘very satisfied’, while 15% were ‘very dissatisfied’.

Manager Representation

  • 49% felt their manager represented them well during the appraisal process. Among this group, 37% said the manager actively advocated for them, and 11% said the manager was involved but not proactive.
  • 32% said their manager did little or nothing; within this segment, 22% said the manager did nothing at all and 10% said the manager did little.
  • 20% could not say either way.

Salary Expectations on Switching Jobs

  • 70% expect a salary hike of 21% or more when changing employers.
  • Expected hike bands: 21‑30% (27% of respondents), 31‑40% (23%), 11‑20% (23%), >40% (20%), and <10% (7%).

Primary Drivers for Job Change

  • Better pay available elsewhere – 22.8% (top reason).
  • No promotion or visible growth path – 20.4%.
  • Increment lower than expected – 16.9%.
  • Not enough to learn or grow – 15.9%.
  • Work culture or management issues – 13.5%.
  • Other reasons – 10.5%.
