Announcement

On September 15, 2026, in Hannover, Germany, GAC Commercial Vehicle made its debut at IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 under the theme “Delivering the Future Together”. The company used the event to showcase a range of new‑energy heavy and light commercial vehicle products, technology demonstrations, and open‑ecosystem achievements, signalling a major step in its global expansion strategy.

Partnerships and Technology

GAC Commercial Vehicle partnered with Pony.ai and Aulton to demonstrate L4 autonomous driving and rapid battery‑swapping solutions built around its T9 truck platform. The T9 Robotruck integrates Pony.ai’s fourth‑generation autonomous driving technology with a fully redundant drive‑by‑wire chassis, equipped with nine LiDAR sensors, three radars and thirteen cameras. Compared with the previous generation, hardware costs are reduced by 70% and the autonomous‑driving transportation cost per ton‑kilometer is roughly 30% lower. The T9 Battery Swap EV Tractor features an electric drive axle paired with a 603 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate battery, delivering up to 475 km of range and an energy consumption as low as 1.2 kWh per kilometre. Aulton’s battery‑swap system can replace a full vehicle battery in approximately three to five minutes, enhancing vehicle utilisation for fixed‑route, high‑frequency operations.

New Light‑Vehicle Brand MONTX

The company introduced its new light commercial vehicle brand, MONTX, with overseas debuts of the P10 and V10 concept vehicles and the unveiling of its All‑Domain Adaptive Architecture (ADAA). The MONTX P10 is positioned as an All‑Domain Integrated Mobility Platform targeting explorers and outdoor professionals, featuring four distributed drive motors, an AI Camp Mode and Intelligent Trailering Assist to handle extreme terrains. The MONTX V10, described as an All‑Domain Mobile Station, is aimed at digital nomads, creators and travelers, offering a modular interior, Dual‑Drive Smart Cabin and off‑grid self‑sustaining capabilities for work, rest and social activities. ADAA is built on a philosophy of Multi‑Energy by Design, Body‑on‑Frame by Design and Adaptive Intelligence by Design, allowing a single architecture to support multiple energy types, vehicle forms and applications, thereby improving development efficiency across diverse markets.

MONTX Makers Co‑Creation Initiative

Alongside the concept vehicles, MONTX launched “MONTX Makers”, a global user co‑creation programme under the banner “Ideas In. Drive Out.” The initiative invites users to contribute to product design early in the development cycle, with selected participants receiving MONTX Pioneer Co‑Creator recognition, invitations to global brand events and exclusive owner benefits.

Production Model SMILODON Pro

The SMILODON Pro production pickup, displayed alongside the concepts, offers cargo capacity, ride comfort and adaptability for multiple scenarios. It is already available in Central and South America and the Middle East, and GAC plans to roll it out to approximately 30 countries by the end of 2026.

Sales Growth and Global Expansion

GAC Commercial Vehicle reported a 205% year‑on‑year sales increase in the first half of 2026. Leveraging the GAC Group’s supply‑chain and sales‑service network across 110 countries and regions, the company intends to take both its products and its open ecosystem to global markets, aiming to accelerate the new‑energy commercial vehicle industry toward a more efficient, intelligent and sustainable future.

Leadership Quote

Jimmy Du, Chief Operating Officer of GAC Commercial Vehicle, stated that the IAA debut marks a key milestone in the company’s globalization journey, emphasizing that taking products global is only the starting point and that extending the ecosystem globally represents a new stage of value co‑creation.
