Project Details
Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) has partnered with Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited (CleanMax) to set up a 75.90 MW wind and 84.34 MWp solar hybrid renewable power project under group captive structure.
Capacity Breakdown:
- Total Wind Capacity: 75.90 MW
- Total Solar Capacity: 84.34 MWp
- Total Hybrid Capacity: 160.24 MW
Project Phases:
- Phase 1: 16.50 MW wind + 21.701 MWp solar
- Phase 2: 59.40 MW wind + 62.64 MWp solar
Location: Four renewable energy sites in Gujarat: Kalikanagar, Aji Dahisarda, Rajula and Ghuntu
Power Consumption and Structure
- 100% of power generated will be consumed by GACL's manufacturing units at Dahej and Vadodara
- Project implemented under group captive structure
- Power supply will be hybrid renewable energy
Environmental Impact
- Expected annual generation: 36.9 crore units of clean power
- Annual CO2 emission reduction: 264,204 tons
- Environmental benefit equivalent to planting 15.27 million trees annually
Project Timeline and Execution
- Project will be commissioned in accordance with contractual timelines agreed between CleanMax and GACL
- CleanMax has 844 MW of operational renewable energy capacity in Gujarat as of March 31, 2026
Company Background
GACL: Established in 1973, promoted by Government of Gujarat, one of India's largest chlor-alkali manufacturers with current caustic soda capacity of 8,52,400 TPA across four complexes (two in Vadodara, two in Dahej).
CleanMax: India's largest pureplay Commercial & Industrial renewable energy company with 15+ years operations. Contracted renewable energy portfolio reached 5.7 GW in FY 2025-26, serving 588 customers including major corporations like Apple, Amazon, Meta, Cisco, etc. CARE Ratings upgraded CleanMax's credit rating to CARE AA-/Stable in May 2026.
