Campaign Launch
On 7 October 2026, GAIL (India) Limited launched Season 2 of its consumer awareness initiative “Wah Kya Energy Hai”. The launch introduced four short‑format films released on GAIL’s official YouTube channel, each with a runtime of approximately eight to ten minutes. In addition, a campaign anthem titled “Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Energy”, lasting more than four minutes, was unveiled and distributed on major music‑streaming platforms including Spotify, Amazon Music, Gaana and JioSaavn.
Content and Messaging
The series follows the Mishra family through everyday scenarios—such as a short trip to Varanasi, a boat ride, family celebrations, visits to relatives and an event at Senior Mishra’s factory—to illustrate the benefits of cleaner fuels. The narrative emphasizes adoption of CNG, PNG, industrial PNG (IPNG), LNG and compressed biogas (CBG) for domestic, commercial and industrial applications. The campaign specifically targets Generation Z, recognizing their influence on consumption choices, and aims to make clean‑energy options relatable across age groups, geographies and occupations, including defence personnel.
Distribution and Promotion
Beyond YouTube, the short films are amplified through GAIL’s social‑media channels, influencer collaborations, digital banners, radio spots, cinema‑chain advertising and gamified activations. Short‑form excerpts are shared as social‑media shorts, while the anthem is promoted on leading music‑streaming services. The initiative also leverages digital outreach to broaden reach.
Leadership Commentary
Ayush Gupta, Director of GAIL, who also heads Corporate Communications & Branding, stated that Season 2 and the anthem are intended to kindle greater awareness about clean‑energy choices and environmental responsibility. He highlighted that the stories demonstrate GAIL’s clean‑energy ecosystem—from CNG and PNG enabling cleaner mobility and household use to transport LNG and commercial/industrial PNG supporting efficient industrial needs. Gupta also referenced GAIL Utkarsh, the company’s CSR programme supporting under‑privileged students, and the floating CNG station in Varanasi as examples of GAIL’s broader social and economic contributions.
Cast and Production
Renowned actors Srikant Verma, Divya Jagdale, Luv Vispute and Ahmed Khan appear in the four short films, adding relatable appeal to the sustainability messaging.
