On Thursday, 20 August 2026, Galgotias University in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, hosted a delegation of approximately 200 senior officials and business leaders from Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. The delegation was led by Governor Kotaro Nagasaki and included Vice‑Governor Junichi Ishidera, Advisor Neerendra Upadhyaya, and members of the Yamanashi business community.

Agreements Signed

During the ceremony at the university’s AI Block, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Yamanashi Prefectural Government and a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the University of Yamanashi. The MoU focuses on talent mobility, facilitating student exchanges, faculty collaboration and skilling programmes, while the LoI establishes a framework for joint research and technology development in green hydrogen and low‑carbon mobility.

Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) delivered a presentation outlining additional opportunities for industry‑level partnerships and talent pipelines between the two regions.

Focused Group Engagements

Parallel sessions were organised across the campus:

  • A green‑hydrogen discussion between university faculty and Japanese delegates explored joint research, technology development and researcher exchange.
  • Delegates visited the Digital Nursing Skills and Simulation Centre for a session on nursing and health‑science education.
  • Student‑to‑student interactions allowed cultural and career‑aspiration exchanges.
  • Tours of the university’s Centres of Excellence, including the iOS Development Centre, the L&T Centre of Excellence, and laboratories in artificial intelligence, drone technology and semiconductors, showcased the institution’s industry‑integrated teaching model.
