Functionality
The ECG App allows users to record a 30‑second electrocardiogram directly from the watch. The recorded signal is analysed to detect the presence of atrial fibrillation (AFib) or a normal sinus rhythm. Results are displayed immediately on the smartwatch and can also be accessed later through the Garmin Connect™ smartphone application, where users may generate a report to share with a healthcare provider.
Requirements and Eligibility
Activation of the ECG App requires the latest version of both the Garmin Connect smartphone app and the smartwatch firmware. The app is intended solely for adults aged 22 years and older and is not a substitute for professional medical diagnosis; users experiencing heart‑attack, stroke, or other cardiovascular symptoms are advised to seek immediate medical attention. Availability is limited to selected regions and devices, as detailed on Garmin.com/ECG.
