The company announced its exclusive role as the supplier of welding consumables for three advanced naval warships commissioned by the Indian Navy on June 21, 2026, in Kolkata. The vessels commissioned were INS Dunagiri (a Project 17A Stealth Frigate), INS Agray (an Arnala-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft), and INS Sanshodhak (an Advanced Survey Vessel).
The historic Tri-Commissioning Ceremony was presided over by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The warships were designed by the Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau and constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE). The vessels were built indigenously with local content exceeding 75%, representing a significant milestone in India's self-reliant (Atmanirbhar Bharat) defence manufacturing journey.
Mr. Umesh Agrawal, Joint Managing Director of GEE Limited, commented that the company was deeply honoured to be the trusted welding partner for this landmark event. He stated that supplying critical consumables for three diverse platforms simultaneously underscores the company's technical expertise, consistent quality, and reliability in supporting India's strategic defence programmes. This achievement is stated to reinforce the company's commitment to nation-building and positions it strongly within the growing indigenous defence and shipbuilding ecosystem.
