Overview

GEMS Education, one of the world’s largest private K‑12 operators, announced a strategic collaboration with Mumbai‑based Cresmonde Schools. The partnership covers two existing schools in Vikhroli and Kalyan and two planned schools in Malwani and Kalyan, bringing together GEMS’ global brand and operational expertise with Cresmonde’s local presence and Finnish‑curriculum tie‑up.

Strategic Rationale

Under the agreement, GEMS will apply its academic and operational standards to enhance teaching and learning across the four schools, ensuring alignment with international benchmarks while meeting the aspirations of Indian parents and students. GEMS describes the deal as its first collaboration with a local operator in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and views it as a model for future global‑local partnerships in Indian education.

Leadership Comments

Francis Joseph, India CEO of GEMS Education, stated that the collaboration reflects “tremendous potential” for global‑local partnerships, offering diverse curriculum choices and strengthening teaching practices to create future‑focused learning environments. Anita Dewoolkar, Founder Trustee of Cresmonde Schools, expressed pride in partnering with GEMS, noting that the tie‑up will significantly enhance the academic and learning environment for students in Vikhroli, Kalyan and Malwani and prepare learners for success in an increasingly interconnected world.
