Contract Award Details

Genesys International Corporation Limited has been awarded a ₹283 crore contract to develop a comprehensive Geographic Information System (GIS) 3D digital map platform of Ahmedabad. This is described as one of India's largest Digital Twin initiatives and is World Bank-funded. The project is part of the Gujarat Resilient Cities Partnership program.

Project Scope and Technical Specifications

The contract involves creating a unified digital foundation for urban planning, infrastructure management, and civic service delivery covering approximately 625 square kilometers of Ahmedabad. Key components include:

  • Digital mapping of the city's land parcels, properties, roads, water networks, sewerage systems, stormwater drainage infrastructure, and other critical civic assets
  • Survey, geocoding, and assignment of unique digital identities for approximately 25 lakh properties
  • Development of an elevation model using orthophotography
  • Establishment of 40 primary and 200 secondary survey control points to enhance accuracy
  • Mapping of underground civic infrastructure including water supply, sewerage, stormwater drainage, and cable networks with location and depth information

Strategic Importance and Technology Deployment

The project represents a continuation of Genesys' leading position in Digital Twin, HD mapping, and Physical AI space. The company will deploy its constellation of advanced sensors to create a high-accuracy digital representation of Ahmedabad. The spatial intelligence platform will integrate above-ground and underground infrastructure onto a unified digital platform, enabling:

  • Better coordination across civic departments
  • Improved infrastructure planning
  • More accurate information for future development and maintenance activities
  • Support for planning, simulation, and decision-making

Project Timeline and Maintenance

The project is expected to be completed over a period of two-and-a-half years, followed by five years of operation and maintenance services.
