Inauguration of GJS 2026 Diwali Edition

The All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) inaugurated the 10th edition of the India Gem & Jewellery Show (GJS 2026 Diwali Edition) on 2 October 2026 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The exhibition will run through 4 October 2026, bringing together jewellers, designers, buyers and industry leaders from India and abroad.

The ceremony was presided over by Chief Guest Shri Uday Samant, Cabinet Minister for Industries and Marathi Language, Government of Maharashtra. Guest of Honour was Mr Srinivas Injeti, Chairman of IAGES, with additional dignitaries including Mr Mahesh Jain, President of the UP Sarafa Association, and Mr Rajiv Jain, Chairman of JJS. GJC officials present included Chairman Rajesh Rokde, Vice‑Chairman Avinash Gupta and Convenor Saiyam Mehra, together with members of the GJC Committee of Administration and senior industry leaders.

In his address, Shri Uday Samant highlighted Maharashtra’s historic role as a trade and craftsmanship hub and praised GJS for showcasing the industry’s strength, creativity and resilience. Chairman Rajesh Rokde described the event as a milestone that will enable jewellers to showcase innovation, strengthen business ties and reinforce India’s position as a global gem and jewellery hub. Vice‑Chairman Avinash Gupta emphasized the platform’s relevance amid growing festive demand and its focus on innovation while preserving heritage. Convenor Saiyam Mehra noted that the three‑day exhibition will feature networking, knowledge sharing and the National Jewellery Awards scheduled for the following day.

The show will display a wide range of product categories, including gold and silver jewellery, couture and diamond‑studded pieces, loose diamonds, gemstones and pearls, lab‑grown diamonds and jewellery, as well as allied machinery and equipment. Organisers positioned GJS as the premier sourcing destination for domestic and international jewellers, reinforcing India’s five‑thousand‑year jewellery heritage and its emerging legacy of innovation.
