Overview
Godrej Agrovet Limited, a leading agri‑business of the Godrej Industries Group, inaugurated India’s first integrated oil palm complex in Khammam, Telangana on 27 July 2026. The project represents a cumulative investment of INR 300 crore and brings the entire oil palm value chain – from seed and genetics to a future refinery – under one roof.
Facility Components and Capacity
The complex houses a seed garden established in partnership with leading global genetics companies, a nursery, an R&D centre focused on developing hybrid planting material suited to Telangana’s climate, a processing mill with an initial capacity of 30 tonnes per hour (designed for expansion to 60 tonnes per hour), and a state‑of‑the‑art refinery that will be commissioned subsequently. A Samadhan Centre, the company’s flagship farmer‑support hub, is also located on the site to provide advisory services and input access to oil palm growers.
Expansion Plans and Targets
Godrej Agrovet targets an increase in oil palm plantation area in Telangana from the current 10,000 hectares to 30,000 hectares by 2030, aligning the mill’s scalable capacity with the planned acreage expansion. The integrated complex is intended to bolster the state’s oil palm mission, enhance edible‑oil security for the nation, and improve livelihoods for lakhs of farming households.
Partnerships and R&D
The seed garden leverages expertise from global partners to introduce advanced oil palm genetics to India. The on‑site R&D centre will develop climate‑optimised hybrid varieties, aiming to improve yield and resilience in local conditions.
