Inauguration of Bandra Bay Pedestrian Corridor

On 13 October 2026, Adv. Ashish Shelar, Minister for Electronics, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, and MLA for Bandra West, inaugurated a newly developed pedestrian corridor along LK Mehta Marg in Mumbai. The corridor represents the first completed public‑infrastructure project under the Bandra Bay Beautification Initiative, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)‑led plan to create a green, walkable waterfront.

The corridor was developed by Godrej Properties Limited (BSE: GODREJPROP) and RC Group in partnership with the BMC. It is designed to enhance pedestrian safety, ease movement and make Bandra Bay a more welcoming, walkable and vibrant address for the city.

To celebrate the opening, the site hosted a community wellness morning by the sea, featuring stationary cycles that lit up with each turn, a walking challenge along the waterfront, an open‑format Zumba session, a gentle yoga class, face‑painting, pottery, diya‑painting, healthy bowls, seasonal fruit juices, and an emotion‑tracker for visitors.

Future phases of the Bandra Bay plan will extend the corridor directly to the waterfront and add a green promenade, open lawns, a pet park, a quiet reading zone, an amphitheatre, a mini‑golf course and a sports and activity zone.
