Goldman Sachs will lose two senior Asia bankers – Dawei Huang (China tech, media, telecom) and Samuel Thong (health‑care IB).
Huang’s exit is the third senior China‑operation departure this year, following Cai Wei’s retirement and Zhang Yi’s move to JPMorgan.
Thong leaves as Morgan Stanley and Citigroup have overtaken Goldman in Asia’s health‑care advisory market, where deals have risen since 2024.
Neither banker has formally resigned and both declined comment requests.
