Grasim Industries Limited has inaugurated Phase 1 of its Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) resin manufacturing plant at Vilayat, Gujarat. The plant has a planned capacity of approximately 50,000 metric tonnes per annum.
This facility is part of a larger project to create the world's largest single-site state-of-the-art CPVC resin facility with a total capacity of 100,000 metric tonnes. The project is being undertaken in collaboration with Lubrizol Advanced Materials India Private Limited (referred to as Lubrizol Manufacturing India Private Ltd in previous communications).
The company executed agreements with Lubrizol for production of CPVC resin in India, with initial announcements made on 30th October 2020 and 19th June 2023 regarding the construction of the first phase.
The company will inform about the commencement of commercial production at this plant in due course.
