Joint Venture Update - AV Group NB Inc. (AVNB)
- AV Group NB Inc. (AVNB) is a pulp manufacturing Joint Venture of Grasim Industries based in Canada
- AVNB operates two dissolving grade pulp mills located at Nackawic and Atholville in New Brunswick, Canada
- Total combined capacity: ~332K TPA (tonnes per annum)
- Grasim Industries holds a 45% stake in AVNB
- Total investment: ₹187.41 crore (comprising equity share of ₹153.04 crore and preference share of ₹34.37 crore)
Operational Update
- AVNB will temporarily idle its pulp operations facility located at Nackawic, New Brunswick
- Idling timing: around the end of October 2026
- Nackawic facility capacity: ~190K TPA of dissolving-grade pulp
- Reason for idling: Continuing challenges from prevailing market conditions and broader macroeconomic factors
