Announcement

GrowthCap Ventures, a SEBI‑registered Category‑2 operator‑led venture capital fund focused on deep‑tech, fintech and AI, announced a seed‑stage investment in LogiXair, a Hyderabad‑based aerospace and logistics startup. The round also includes angel investors with professional experience at Honeywell Aerospace, bringing additional aerospace industry expertise.

Company Background and Technology

LogiXair, founded by Bhanu Teja Chidura and Pulla Kapil, is developing autonomous hybrid‑electric vertical take‑off and landing (VTOL) aircraft for cargo logistics across India and international markets. The team, comprising aerospace engineers, autonomous‑systems specialists, robotics and software experts, has created six intellectual‑property assets that have reached Technology Readiness Level 6. It has successfully validated a hybrid‑electric powertrain, flight‑tested sub‑scale prototypes such as the Winghead 002, and is working with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and other aerospace and defence OEMs to align its technology with operational requirements.

Product Details

The flagship model, designated L560, is an autonomous hybrid‑electric VTOL capable of carrying up to 300 kg of cargo over a range of 600 km. The platform incorporates modular cargo containers, autonomous ground‑handling systems and fleet‑operations software, creating a new logistics layer that can operate without conventional runways and complement road, rail and traditional aviation networks.

Use of Funds and Market Opportunity

The seed capital will be deployed to continue engineering development, further technology validation and the commercialisation of the L560 platform. LogiXair plans to forge partnerships across logistics, industrial and strategic sectors to accelerate market entry. The company positions its solution to serve defence and offshore logistics initially, then expand to India’s middle‑mile cargo market and eventually to Europe and the Asia‑Pacific region.

Strategic Context

LogiXair’s progress aligns with India’s broader deep‑tech and aerospace ecosystem, supported by the government’s Rs 1 lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme aimed at accelerating indigenous technology development and commercialisation. GrowthCap Ventures’ investment, combined with the aerospace expertise of its angel investors, is intended to strengthen LogiXair’s path toward building a scalable aerial logistics infrastructure for both domestic and global markets.
