Hainan Delegation Ends Five-Day SE Asia Tour

Thailand Activities

• The delegation held the China (Hainan)‑Thailand Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference in Bangkok on July 21, co‑hosted by the Hainan Provincial Government and the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), attracting approximately 200 representatives from Thai institutions.
• Presentations were delivered by officials from the Haikou National High‑tech Industrial Development Zone and the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone outlining Hainan Free Trade Port preferential policies and industrial plans.
• BOI Deputy Secretary‑General Tanita Sirisup briefed attendees on Thailand’s business environment and investment opportunities.
• A memorandum of understanding was signed between the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hainan Provincial Committee (CCPIT Hainan), the China Chamber of International Commerce Hainan Chamber of Commerce (CCOIC Hainan) and the Board of Trade of Thailand, establishing a platform for ongoing business exchanges.

• In Jakarta, the delegation visited the Indonesia‑China Business Council and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bilateral Committee for China (KIKT).
• A China (Hainan)‑Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Symposium was hosted, attended by Indonesia National Investment Company, Yali Group, Lin’s Group and KML Seafood Group.
• Discussions focused on potential collaboration in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, the digital economy and other sectors.

Strategic Significance

The tour expanded the Hainan Free Trade Port’s cooperation network with ASEAN partners, creating fresh opportunities for deeper economic and trade exchanges and for advancing industrial collaboration across the highlighted sectors.
