On June 11, 2026, Haleon, a consumer health company, disclosed plans to establish its first manufacturing facility in India. The greenfield plant will be located in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, within a Smart Industrial Park and will span more than 40 acres.
Investment Details
The project represents a total investment of approximately ₹2,000 crore, equivalent to about £175 million based on an exchange rate of £1 = INR 115. This capital outlay is positioned as a strategic contribution to India’s consumer health sector and aligns with the government’s ‘Make in India’ agenda.
Facility Scope and Timeline
Designed around Haleon’s new global advance blueprint, the facility will feature future‑ready automated manufacturing capabilities focused on oral health products. It is slated to become operational in the fiscal year 2029‑30, enabling the company to meet rising domestic demand and serve export markets across wider Asia.
Employment and Workforce Composition
Haleon projects the creation of up to 500 direct jobs at the site, with additional indirect employment opportunities. The company has set a target for women to constitute up to 30% of the workforce, emphasizing diversity and inclusion.
Strategic Market Objectives
The new plant is intended to strengthen supply‑chain resilience, increase domestic value addition, and support export competitiveness. Haleon aims to reach an additional 300 million consumers in India, contributing to its broader ambition of adding one billion more consumers globally by 2030.

The announcement was made in the presence of Dr Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh; Brian McNamara, Chief Executive Officer of Haleon; Kedar Lele, CEO India and President India Subcontinent, Haleon; and Namrata Patel, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Haleon. The state government, through the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), expressed commitment to facilitating the investment and fostering an enabling environment for sustainable industrial progress.

Haleon’s Indian portfolio includes oral health brands such as Sensodyne, alongside products in digestive health, pain relief, respiratory, and vitamins/minerals (e.g., Eno, Otrivin, Centrum, Iodex, Crocin, Parodontax, Ostocalcium). Sensodyne has been highlighted as a key driver of the company’s oral health presence in India over the past decade.
