Launch of the Go‑Dhan Initiative

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd (HAPL), the largest private‑sector dairy in India, formally inaugurated the Go‑Dhan programme at the OUAT Auditorium in Bhubaneswar. The ceremony was attended by Sri Prem Chand Chaudhary, Secretary of the Department of Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, Government of Odisha, as Chief Guest; Sri Shubhranshu, Managing Director of APICOL, as Guest of Honour; Sri Rakesh Kumar Yadav, Chief General Manager of State Bank of India; and Mr. R. G. Chandramogan, Chairman of Hatsun Agro Product Ltd.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between Hatsun, the Government of Odisha, and State Bank of India, designed to empower 6,000 dairy farmers across 15 districts of Odisha. Go‑Dhan will facilitate greater access to institutional finance and relevant government support, enabling farmers to invest in quality bovine breeds, improved cattle housing, farm mechanisation, nutrition, and herd health. The programme will also channel the Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY) subsidy scheme to provide more affordable capital for strengthening and expanding dairy operations.

Hatsun’s Chairman, Mr. R. G. Chandramogan, stated that the company aims to support the establishment of more than 6,000 dairy farms over the next three years in a phased manner. The goal is to improve farmer incomes, promote scientific dairy farming, and create a sustainable dairy ecosystem in Odisha. He emphasized the partnership with the Department of Animal Husbandry, the Government of Odisha, APICOL, and State Bank of India as critical to transforming Odisha into a dairy‑rich state and meeting consumer demand both locally and in neighboring markets such as West Bengal and North Andhra Pradesh.

The press release also outlines Hatsun’s broader operational footprint: the company procures milk from over 500,000 farmers, adheres to ISO 22000 quality standards, and manages a diversified brand portfolio that includes Arun Icecreams, Arokya Milk & Milk Products, Hatsun Dairy Products, ibaco ice‑cream outlets, HAP Daily (with more than 4,200 outlets), Hanobar confectionaries, Havia chocolates, Santosa cattle feed, and Aniva whey drinks. These brands are distributed across South India and are expanding into additional states, reinforcing Hatsun’s position as a leading private‑sector dairy player.
