Strategic Initiative Overview

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd. (HAPL), described as the largest private sector dairy in India, has launched 'Go-Dhan', a flagship initiative aimed at empowering dairy farmers across Odisha. The program focuses on improving access to financial support, government schemes, modern dairy practices, and technology.

Partnership Structure

The initiative is implemented in partnership with:

  • Government of Odisha (Department of Fisheries & Animal Resources Development)
  • State Bank of India
  • APICOL (Odisha State Cooperative Agricultural & Rural Development Bank)

Implementation Scale and Timeline

The initiative is expected to benefit 6000 dairy farmers across 15 districts of Odisha. The program will be implemented over three years in a phased manner, with the objective of establishing more than 6,000 dairy farms.

  • Provides greater access to institutional finance for investments in quality bovine breeds, improved cattle housing, farm mechanization, nutrition, and herd health
  • Leverages government subsidy schemes including Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY) to help farmers access more affordable capital

The initiative was formally launched at a ceremony held at the OUAT Auditorium, Bhubaneswar. Distinguished representatives included:
