On 26 October 2026, HCLTech (listed on NSE and BSE as HCLTECH) and Japan‑based Rapidus Corporation jointly announced the inauguration of two HCLTech development centres in India, located in Bengaluru and Hubli. The centres are dedicated to meeting Rapidus' evolving semiconductor engineering requirements.
Capabilities Offered
The new facilities will deliver a suite of semiconductor engineering services, including mask design, design infrastructure, process design kit (PDK) development, design‑technology co‑optimization, and layout design. These capabilities are intended to accelerate Rapidus' next‑generation logic semiconductor programmes and compress time‑to‑market for advanced chips.
Talent Collaboration
HCLTech will collaborate with Rapidus to create a pipeline of Indian engineering talent, addressing Rapidus' talent needs in Japan. The partnership is positioned as a strategic move to leverage India’s growing pool of semiconductor engineering expertise while supporting Rapidus' long‑term objectives in Japan.
