HCLTech Secures ISO/IEC 42001:2023 Certification
HCLTech (NSE: HCLTECH, BSE: HCLTECH) announced on 7 July 2026 that it has been awarded ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for its Enterprise Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS). The certification, granted by Schellman Compliance, LLC—an accredited body recognized by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and a member of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF)—covers the AIMS across the full AI lifecycle, including the AI Force platform, software engineering, IT operations and business‑process services.
The ISO/IEC 42001:2023 standard, the first international standard for AI management systems published jointly by the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), establishes a comprehensive framework for risk management, transparency, fairness, accountability and continuous improvement. HCLTech’s certified framework aligns with emerging global regulatory requirements such as the European Union AI Act, enabling the company to help enterprise clients adopt and govern AI consistently across systems, functions and geographies.
Avani Desai, Chief Executive Officer of Schellman, stated that the certification “takes on a different level of significance at an organization the size and complexity of HCLTech” and emphasizes embedding responsible AI governance into daily operations. Vijay Guntur, Chief Technology Officer and Head of Ecosystems at HCLTech, said the certification “reflects HCLTech’s commitment to building and delivering AI responsibly at scale” and provides independent assurance to clients deploying AI.
With this achievement, HCLTech joins a limited group of organisations that have independently validated AI management capabilities at enterprise scale. The company employs more than 227,000 professionals across 60 countries and reported consolidated revenues of $14.7 billion for the twelve‑month period ending March 2026. Its service portfolio spans AI, digital, engineering, cloud and software, serving sectors including financial services, manufacturing, life sciences and healthcare, technology and services, semiconductor, telecom and media, retail and consumer packaged goods, mobility and public services.
