Heads Up For Tails Launches NutriMeow Cat Food
India’s pet care industry is entering a structural growth phase, with the cat food segment expanding most rapidly. The cat food retail market increased from US$55.2 million in 2020 to US$213.9 million in 2025, delivering a 31.1% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and is projected to reach US$439.6 million by 2030 (Agriculture and Agri‑Food Canada, 2026). Wet cat food sales grew even faster, at a 33.4% CAGR, reaching US$88.7 million in 2025 (Euromonitor International, 2025), reflecting heightened consumer focus on palatability and ingredient quality.
In this accelerating market, Heads Up For Tails (HUFT) introduced the NutriMeow range, offering both wet and dry cat food at a price point starting from ₹65. The formulation uses quality animal meat as the sole protein source and excludes meat by‑products, corn or soy fillers, artificial preservatives, synthetic colours, and added flavours, aiming to combine premium nutrition with everyday affordability.
The brand’s initial launch generated strong organic consumer interest, signalling clear demand for a product that balances quality, taste, and price. HUFT plans to scale NutriMeow by leveraging multiple distribution channels: pet shops and superstores, which together accounted for 42.6% of India’s pet food retail sales in 2025, and e‑commerce platforms that have grown at a 31.7% annual rate since 2020. The product will be available on Amazon, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, Blinkit, and the company’s own website (www.huft.com).
Chief Business Officer Nishad Kenkre stated that cat nutrition in India is at an inflection point and that the next phase of growth will stem from making better nutrition widely accessible. He highlighted a market white‑space for cat food that delivers quality ingredients, great taste, and everyday affordability without forcing compromises. HUFT’s increased investment in NutriMeow reflects its ambition to set a new benchmark for everyday cat feeding across India.
