Highstar Opens First Overseas Tabless Battery Plant

Highstar inaugurated its Malaysia Tabless Cell Base in Kulim on March 26, 2026, marking China’s first overseas tabless cylindrical cell line.
The plant began mass production of the INR21700-50PS 5 Ah tabless cell, featuring ≤3 mΩ resistance, 250 A pulse, and 3C fast‑charge.
The cell offers a -40 °C to 80 °C range, 1,000‑cycle life at 30 A, targeting power tools, garden tools, robots, AIDC and eVTOL markets.
Chairman Zhou Wen highlighted the strategic “long‑termism” approach, emphasizing global supply‑chain expansion, green‑energy commitment, and continued innovation in small‑power batteries.
