Hikal Limited announced the successful commencement of commercial production at its new cGMP-compliant, multipurpose manufacturing facility dedicated to Personal Care products at its Panoli, Gujarat site. This marks the company's formal entry into commercial-scale supply for the global beauty and personal care industry.

The facility was created by repurposing an existing manufacturing asset at Panoli to serve the needs of the global beauty and personal care industry. Commercial production has recently commenced, with successful manufacturing of first production batches. Product samples have been validated with customers, resulting in positive feedback and market pull for Hikal's product portfolio.

Hikal's initial focus within Personal Care is on the Beauty & Personal Care segment, particularly the skin care category. The company has built a strong portfolio of second-generation UV filters offering enhanced performance and alignment with evolving consumer preferences and regulatory requirements across key markets. These products are currently undergoing approvals with global customers.

According to Sameer Hiremath, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Hikal Limited, this diversification represents a long-term opportunity where the company has applied its disciplined approach from Pharmaceuticals and Crop Protection businesses, including deep customer partnerships, rigorous quality systems, and patient capital investment.

The announcement follows Hikal's recent commissioning of a new cGMP pilot plant at its Pune Research & Technology campus to strengthen pharmaceutical process development and scale-up capabilities for growing the CDMO business.

Hikal also recently received an EcoVadis Gold Medal rating for sustainability excellence, placing the company among the top 5% of more than 175,000 companies assessed globally, with an overall score of 84/100 and a 97th percentile ranking.

Hikal Limited, established in 1988, operates five manufacturing facilities in India at Maharashtra (Taloja and Mahad), Gujarat (Panoli), and Bengaluru (Jigani), with a world-class Research & Technology centre at Pune. The company manufactures and supplies Active Ingredients, Intermediates, and Biocides to the global life sciences industry.
